Medici Art Museum to Showcase Old People’s Art – Business Journal Daily

CORTLAND, Ohio – The new exhibit at the Medici Museum of Art, Building bridges through the agesopens Friday, September 9 and will feature more than 90 pieces of art by local seniors who reside at Ohio Living Lake Vista.

An opening reception is scheduled at the venue from 5-8pm with food, drink and live entertainment provided by Clay Colley.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Medici Museum of Art on this exhibit and to provide a different perspective on aging,” said Brian Kolenich, executive director of Ohio Living Lake Vista.

“Our residents have been involved in the ‘Opening Minds Through the Arts’ approach for some time now,” he continued. “This is an evidence-based art-making program for people with dementia that is fail-safe and provides an opportunity for participants to express themselves and engage. Moreover, it adds “artist” to the already rich life-bio of our residents. The Medici Mission opens a place to bring this work to the greater community, and we are very grateful for that.

To RSVP for the Opening Reception, contact Nicole Branch at 330 638 2420, ext. 1002. The Building Bridges Across Age exhibit runs through December 23.
