The public is invited to a mid-season art opening and event honoring the patrons of the Pemaquid Art Gallery at Lighthouse Park, Bristol on Thursday 4 August, 5-6.30pm.

Patrons include individuals and corporations who provide financial support to the gallery with annual donations of $50 or more. In return, supporters receive a 10% discount on their purchases and participate in an annual drawing to win a work of art provided by a member artist.

This year’s draw is open to the public. This mid-season opening will feature many new releases from member artists. Due to ongoing pandemic health concerns, the ceremony will be held outdoors under a tent, but everyone is welcome to view the artworks inside the gallery. Masks are provided and encouraged, but not required.

The winner of this year’s drawing will receive ‘Country Lane’, a watercolor by talented Bristol artist Robert Vaughan. Vaughn has been the gallery’s president for a few years and an artist member since 2011. This colorful pastoral scene would adorn the walls of any home, an ideal gift for a lucky patron.

In addition to exhibiting and selling original artwork by more than 30 jurors, all Lincoln County residents, the Pemaquid Art Gallery provides financial donations to visual arts programs at area schools and sponsors a free pass to the Portland Museum of Art. Contributions from patrons are essential to both the running of the gallery and the donations program and new patrons are always invited.

The Pemaquid Art Gallery is open seasonally until Monday, October 10. Gallery hours are daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 677-2752 or visit pemaquidartgallery.com.
