Parrish Art Museum Hosts Architectural Trivia Night • James Lane Post • Hamptons Culture & Lifestyle Magazine


To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Herzog & de Meuron-designed building at Water Mill, the Parrish Art Museum is hosting an Architecture Trivia Night – a fun and friendly competition for participants to test their knowledge of Parrish building design, national and international Friday, November 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Hosted by Maziar Behrooz, Director, MB Architecture, the event is open to novices, enthusiasts and experts in the field, and open to teams of two to four players. Content is provided by professional architects and regional historians, including Susan Horowitz, Director of Preservation Projects, Hamptons20CenturyModern and Maziar Behrooz.

The format is 5 sets of 10 questions that cover the history and practice of Parrish, Long Island/East End, International, Modern and General architecture, where participants are asked to name architectural landmarks, designers, styles and questions a little more esoteric for connoisseurs of architecture. . The scoring judge has the final decision on all matters.

Gift baskets and prizes will be awarded to the finalist and winning teams (value of $200 and $300); and each participant receives a raffle ticket for a surprise gift. Pub-style snacks will be available throughout the evening, along with a $20 drink ticket, with beer, wine and soft drinks for purchase, provided by Elegant Affairs.

Tickets for adult teams are between $15 and $60 per team, member and student teams between $10 and $20 per team. Spectators are $16 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for students, and free for members and children.
