On land and under the sea, come explore sweet and savory worlds on this heritage day at the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG). Come have a good time watching impromptu tales with Calf Skit and a hive of artistic activity around an inflatable whale. See you on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to this event is free. The MAG is located at 4525 47A Avenue, Red Deer.

“Art has a message or a story, and our current exhibitions are inspiring examples of why we need to take care of our environment. We hope families will leave our event inspired to recycle and reconsider the use of pesticides. We had fun planning our event around the theme of bees and oceans. We are thrilled to host Calf Skit’s performance and thank FCSS for the use of their large inflatable whale,” said Lynn LeCorre, Education Coordinator.

Bring your recyclables (clean/dry) to use in our ‘Weaving for Whales’ art installation and receive an entry into a draw to win a MAG membership + MAG BAG art kit. Recyclables accepted: water bottles, plastic cutlery, plastic grocery bags, plastic drink rings (pack of 6), straws, plastic drink lids (coffee cups, etc.). Discover our art exhibitions: In adoration of the precarious bee by Dawn Detarando and Tracing the tides: a topographic survey by Lyndal Osborne. In case of bad weather, the event will move indoors with a mini-whale for impromptu storytelling shows.
